The College of Computer Science and Information Technology held on Monday 20th March 2023 its 5th International Conference on Information Technology, Applied Mathematics and Statistics ICITAMS 2023 in cooperation with the International IEEE organisation, under the slogan: (Advanced Technology for a Better Life)

The conference, which was attended by the assistant governor of Diwaniyah, the representative of the Media and Communications Authority, a group of deans of computer science faculties in Iraqi universities, members of the university council, directors of the concerned institutions, a group of professors and researchers, included the national anthem, the opening words of the university president and the dean of the college in his capacity as the Chairman of the conference, and the speech of the representative of the IEEE global institution, Engineer Abbas Sattar Badr. Then, a documentary video about the reconstruction projects at the University of Al-Qadisiyah and the college is displayed, and ended with a musical composition.

The President of the University has indicated in his speech that this scientific event hosted (84) eighty-four international, Arab, regional and local scientific research, and it participates in the technological dialogue of information with major countries of the world such as (the United States of America, Russia, India, China, Philippines, Ethiopia and Lebanon) and with an active presence of researchers from the prestigious Iraqi universities.

The dean of the college the Chairman of the conference has confirmed that it includes various specialities of computer science and their scientific tracks in information technology, applied mathematics and statistics, informatics and cyber security, computer networks and IoT, intelligent systems, electrical and electronic engineering.

The opening ceremony concluded with honoring the supporters and participants.
Two keynote speakers have participated: the first was about integrated machine learning for prediction and multiple classification delivered by Himel Mallick from the United States of America and the second was about embedded systems and artificial intelligence delivered by Hilal Al-Labawi from the University of Babylon. Presentations and scientific sessions continued for two days according to the conference program for all the accepted papers.
