Athman Dhiaa Abdulsttar presented her thesis on finding effective techniques for facial recognition using images.

The thesis aims to identify facial features, which are considered fundamental and important step in many computer vision applications, particularly facial recognition, emotion detection, age detection, and augmented reality applications.
The study proposed a regression-based model using the hourglass model to identify facial features in images, as well as creating a database of facial images.
The examination committee was chaired by Professor Abbas Hanoun Hassan from the University of Basra, and included:
• Dr. Mustafa Jawad Radeef from the University of Al-Qadisiyah
• Dr. Qusay Imran Musa from the University of Al-Qadisiyah
• Ali Mohsen Mohammed from the University of Al-Qadisiyah as a member and supervisor.

The thesis was accepted with (very good)
