The Research Unit at the CSIT organized the seminar and Dr. Ahmed Mohsen Mahdi, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, and senior engineers Mr. Abdul Hussein Joudi and Mr. Hakim Rahif Jalab presented it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the objectives of the symposium was to raise awareness about the importance of conserving electricity consumption in both government and private institutions, as well as households. This is crucial to reduce significant energy wastage, which negatively impacts the sustainability of the national electricity system. Additionally, the symposium aimed to highlight the role of conservation in ensuring that all citizens have access to a continuous supply of electricity. The speakers discussed the increasing rates of electricity consumption in Iraq over the past two decades, driven by population growth and economic development. They also identified the reasons leading to the loss and wastage of a significant portion of energy due to improper consumption practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conclusion, the symposium speakers recommended conducting specialized studies to find scientific solutions that contribute to controlling electricity consumption rates. They emphasized the importance of developing a comprehensive national program involving all relevant institutions to enhance the efficiency of the Iraqi energy system and promote energy conservation. Furthermore, they stressed the potential benefits of harnessing solar energy as a source of electricity generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
